Every story has a beginning and I began by doodling my teachers and friends on the back pages of the school notebooks, a bonafide back bencher.
Somehow this led to College of Art in “Saddi Dilli” and also a Mass Communication Diploma that nudged me towards television production and direction.
Started out creating some interesting, fun and a few admittedly boring on-air promos for Star TV, IBN7, India TV, etc. Then ventured towards publishing, designing wonderful non fiction books for Dorling Kindersley.
But the free wheelie spirit in me was itching to experiment with things that were left undone. So back to doodling…
I am in my own thought bubble, a designer by profession and an artist from the heart. Manana Bonkey is a topsy turvy moniker for my maiden name. Motherhood turned my world upside down and I like it down here, inspiring me to return to what I like doing best.
